Multnomah County Crisis Assessment and Treatment Center (CATC) | February 8, 2010 The Local Public Safety Coordinating Council, former Portland Mayor Tom Potter and County Chairman Ted Wheeler’s Joint Mental Health Task Force and others have identified the need for a sub-acute facility in our community. This facility would serve individuals experiencing a mental health crisis who cannot manage their symptoms on their own and do not need a hospital stay to become stable. [Read More]

Budget Fiscal Year 2010 | April 23, 2009 On Thursday, April 23, Chair Wheeler released his Executive Budget for Fiscal Year 2010. Due to an unprecedented set of economic challenges and after nearly a decade of continuous cuts to county programs and services, Multnomah County faces a budget shortfall of $46 million dollars over the next two years, in addition to substantial cuts from the State of Oregon that have yet to be determined.
