Multnomah County Chair Jeff Cogen

Chief Diversity and Equity Officer

As Multnomah County grows and changes in the richness of race, ethnicity, gender, age, and sexual orientation, I will continue to invest in programs and initiatives aimed at reducing disparities in health and welfare throughout the community and within the organization.

In the 2011 Budget, I proposed funding for a Diversity and Equity Initiative which was unanimously supported by the Board. Integral to the success of the initiative is the hiring of a Chief Diversity and Equity Officer.  A national search to fill that position is currently underway. If you are a qualified candidate with a passion to advance diversity and equity issues in a way that effects organizational change, please visit the county's website to apply.

Sincerely,

Jeff Cogen
